There are some games you plan to play — and others you just stumble into, completely by accident.

For me, Doodle Baseball was one of those beautiful accidents. I was sitting at a lakeside camp in Slovenia, coffee in one hand, Wi-Fi barely holding on, when I opened Google to check the weather.

And there it was — a peanut pitcher smirking at me from the homepage. I clicked, out of curiosity. Ten minutes later, I was shouting “Home run!” loud enough to startle the guy in the next tent.

That’s when I realized: this silly, snack-filled baseball doodle wasn’t just a one-time gimmick. It was a tiny, perfect reminder of how good simple games can feel.
